From May 11th to 16th, an international group of conscientious objectors will gather in New York City and Washington, DC for Operation Refuse War, a week of conferences, demonstrations, and actions in celebration of International Conscientious Objectors Day, May 15th.

Military Families Speak Out is an organization of people who are
opposed to war in Iraq and who have relatives or loved ones in
the military. It was formed in November, 2002, and has contacts
with military families throughout the United States, and in other
countries around the world. Its membership currently includes

U.S. Marine Corps General Smedley Butler, who died in 1940, was
the author of the book, War is a Racket. The Smedley Butler
Society is dedicated to anti-war and anti-intervention activities.

organization that was founded in New York City in 1967 to voice
the growing opposition among returning servicemen and women to
